Instructional Assistants/Paraprofessionals - Annual Parental Notification

In accordance with Board Policy and Administrative Regulation 4222, every paraprofessional hired and working in a program supported by Title I funds has received a high school diploma or its equivalent and has met at least one of the following criteria pursuant to 20 USC 6319: 

1) Completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education;

2) Obtained an associate's or higher degree;

3) Met a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrated, through a locally determined academic assessment, knowledge of ad the ability to assist in instructing either reading, writing and mathematics or reading readiness, writing readiness and mathematics readiness. 

Parents or Guardians may request information from the District Office regarding whether his/her child is provided services by professionals and, is so, their qualifications.
